During Q3 2016, the number of closed M&A transactions in the GCC increased by 5% compared to Q3 2015. Among the region, transactions in Oman and Saudi Arabia witnessed the highest growth. Transactions in Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait witnessed a decline of 100%, 100% and 20% respectively. A slight growth was witnessed in the United Arab Emirates. 

The United Arab Emirates had the highest the number of closed transactions among its GCC counterparts throughout the period. During Q3 2016, they accounted for 38% of the transactions, the highest, while Oman accounted for the lowest at 14%. Bahrain and Qatar did not engage in any closed transactions. The United Arab Emirates was the most prevalent target country among the top deals.
