Kuwait power consumption is driven by the fast population growth, increased need for desalinated water and the economic development of the country. Currently, majority of power generated comes from burning liquid fuels. With unprecedented growth in electricity demand, Kuwait will have to either increase usage of renewable resources to generate power or forego future revenues from oil exports. 

In this report, we outline the current structure of the Kuwaiti power sector and list the major projects that are currently in-progress. The report discusses the laws and regulations governing the sector, and the changes that are expected worldwide with advancements in technology. Furthermore, the report also provides the current and future trends in power consumption, generation and distribution, in the Kuwait power sector.
