• Ma’aden (Saudi Arabian Mining Company) was established in 1997 to develop the mineral resources available in Saudi Arabia. It was established as a wholly owned company by the Government of Saudi Arabia before 50% of its shares were free floated in 2008 in Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul). 
• Being the only mining and exploration company in Saudi Arabia, Ma’aden operates mainly in Gold and Base metals, Phosphate and Aluminium segments. 
• Ma’aden generated revenue of USD 2,877.3 Mn in 2014. The phosphate segment contributed 51.69% to the total revenue of Ma’adden followed by Aluminium with the share of 41.68% and gold with the share of 6.64%. 
• After 2010, Ma’aden has generated profits and reinvested it for the expansion and construction of refining plants for aluminium and phosphate. 
• Ma’aden’s stock outperformed the Tadawul index consistently during 2011-2014. Ma’aden generated an annualized return of 18.8% during the period April 2010 – March 2015, whereas the TASI index generated a return of 7.5%.
